Data & Insights Analyst

Come and join the Littlefish team!

Work location:  Nottingham (Hybrid) Tue/Wed/Thu - Office

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000

Here at Littlefish, we look for people who can make a real difference and become a giant slayer. As the world around us continues to change, we look for people who grab that change with optimism and excitement. These are the passionate and high performing people who enjoy and thrive on thinking outside the box.

Our current employees are the giant slayers who have made Littlefish who we are today, and you will be the future employees who continue to add the drive, passion, and add to our skills and experience as we see Littlefish grow.

So, if this is ticking your boxes and you are excited at the thought of working with creative, passionate, energetic, friendly people- we would love to hear from you.

The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:

We are hiring a Data & Insights Analyst. In this role, you’ll turn complex business data into useful, practical insights that help teams make better decisions. Your days will involve creating and improving dashboards and reports, analysing trends, and supporting Finance, Operations, Sales, and senior leaders with clear, data driven recommendations. You’ll also play a key part in improving how we work with data - from strengthening data quality to making reporting faster, smoother, and easier for everyone to understand.

You will:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models that support financial planning, performance tracking, and commercial analysis.
  • Analyse large datasets to surface trends, risks, and opportunities that improve operational and financial outcomes.
  • Improve data quality and consistency across key systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, BI), so everyone can trust the numbers
  • Automate routine reporting to increase speed and reduce errors.
  • Provide adhoc analytical support to Finance leadership (scenario planning, profitability analysis, KPI development).
  • Partner across teams to translate business questions into clear, scalable data solutions and insights.
  • Ensure outputs are accessible for nontechnical stakeholders and support the rollout and improvement of BI tools and frameworks.

Who you are:

We’re looking for someone who has built their capability in role, not just through study — you’ve worked with real stakeholders, real deadlines, and data that isn’t always perfect. You’re a curious, commercially minded analyst who enjoys uncovering insight from complex data. Detail driven and confident in maintaining high data quality, you’re able to translate technical analysis into clear, meaningful recommendations that support decision-making across the business. You work naturally with colleagues from different teams and bring a proactive, forward-thinking approach to continuous improvement.

You bring:

  • Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and using data to influence decisions.
  • Strong, hands-on Excel capability — you’re comfortable building robust models and producing analysis that people rely on
  • Practical experience using BI tools (Power BI, Fabric or similar) to create dashboards and reporting that support decision making
  • Experience working in a Finance or Commercial setting, where insight is used to drive performance and outcomes (ideal, not essential)
  • A track record of improving how reporting is done — whether that’s automation, streamlining, or raising data quality
  • Curiosity for modern analytics, including AI and automation, and the judgement to apply new tools in a sensible way

What can we offer you?

  • Healthcare cash plan. This will give you access to online GP appointments, 24/7 access to qualified counsellors and cash back against a range of general healthcare
  • Referral bonus scheme of £1000 when you successfully refer a friend.
  • Access to our LinkedIn Learning platform, with over 16000 expert-led online tutorials to enhance and achieve your personal and professional goals.
  • Casual dress policy
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Company social events
  • 25 days annual leave plus public / bank holidays
  • Purchase of annual leave scheme
